Sunday, 9:30 A.M. Worship Service - "Grapes, Giants, & Grasshoppers"

Israel stands at the threshold of promise carrying the memory of bondage. They have been

delivered out of Egypt, but Egypt has not yet been completely delivered out of them. Their

location has changed faster than their perception. They are physically free, yet still struggling to

see themselves as the covenant people God has declared them to be. Numbers 13 reminds us that

liberation is more than changing your location; liberation requires transforming your identity and

imagination. You can have freedom around you while still carrying captivity within you.

GRAPES. GIANTS. GRASSHOPPERS.

The grapes are evidence that God told the truth.

The giants are evidence that promise does not eliminate problems.

The grasshoppers reveal what happens when fear distorts identity.
