Dr. Rodney Todd Morton is a passionate servant leader and the Senior Pastor of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church, affectionately known as "The Knob." He believes in the power of prayer and follows the Holy Spirit's guidance to share God's Word, embracing a holistic approach to ministry that applies biblical principles to real-life challenges.

Dr. Morton has had the distinct privilege of pastoring churches in Alabama, Maryland, and Tennessee, including the Historic Tabernacle Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama-a congregation deeply rooted in the Civil Rights Movement. His leadership continues to inspire and uplift communities through impactful ministry, social engagement, and unwavering faith.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Morton has served as an instructor at Selma University and the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, equipping students and church leaders with biblical knowledge and practical ministry training.
Dr. Morton is a Board-Certified Chaplain and a Board-Certified Pastoral Counselor, providing spiritual guidance and emotional support to individuals, families, and communities in need. His expertise in pastoral care enables him to minister effectively in various settings, addressing both spiritual and mental health concerns.
His lifelong commitment to social justice has earned him recognition, including the MLK Jr. Courage Award and the In the Spirit Award for his work advancing equality and justice. He has served in key leadership roles, including First Vice President of the United Baptist Missionary Convention & Auxiliaries of the State of Maryland, Inc. and Vice President of the NAACP Baltimore Branch. Additionally, he has contributed his expertise as a member of advisory boards such as the Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Commission, the Bon Secours Community Development Corporation, and the National Bridge Crossing Jubilee Board of Directors. As the founder of Nehemiah Central CDC, he has championed initiatives in health, education, and community development.
Dr. Morton holds a Master of Divinity with a Specialization in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as an additional Master's degree in Biblical Studies from the same institution. He also earned a Master's degree in Bible and Pastoral Ministry from Selma University and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina. His doctoral dissertation, "The Urban African American Church and Mental Illness," reflects his commitment to addressing mental health challenges within faith communities.
Above all, Dr. Morton is a devoted husband to Lady Rhonda K. Morton, and together, they are the proud parents of their son, Rylan A. Morton.

Rhonda Kim Morton

Lady Morton graduated from Auburn University Montgomery with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Science degree in Special Education Collaborative Teaching. Having taught in Alabama and Maryland Public Schools, Lady Morton continues to advocate for students with special needs.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Lady Morton organized “Sister Keepers,” a ministry focused on empowering, encouraging, and strengthening women to their full potential by helping them understand God, His love for them, and His plans for their lives.
Lady Morton enjoys serving others, working with young people, and witnessing the gospel creatively.
Today, she serves alongside her best friend, husband, and pastor, Rodney T. Morton. Together, they proudly parent one son, Rylan Alexander Morton.
